Carol Gault was elected to the City Commission in November 2008.  Two weeks following the election, Commissioner Gault was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Commissioner Buz Smith.  She began serving her elected term in January 2009.

Ms. Gault is a former business owner and most recently served as the Program Manager of Paducah Main Street, Inc.  Commissioner Gault holds a political science degree from Murray State University. 

Her community involvement includes serving as Treasurer of the Midtown Alliance of Neighbors, Paducah Day Nursery Past President, BBQ on the River Organization Committee, Charity League Associate, and Paducah Ambassador.

Ms. Gault is married to E. Spivey Gault, a partner with Gault and Box, PLLC.

Through her role as City Commissioner, she serves on the Paducah Renaissance Alliance and Paducah Main Street Boards in addition to the Paducah-McCracken County Emergency Communication Services Board (E911).
