The City Clerk is primarily responsible for attending each meeting of the City Commission, preparing the meeting agendas, and maintaining a record of accurate minutes of the proceedings. The City Clerk's office also is the custodian of all official City records, which includes ordinances, resolutions, municipal orders, and contracts. The duties and responsibilities of the City Clerk as listed in Chapter 2 Section 2.92 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah shall include but are not limited to:
- Maintenance and safekeeping of the permanent records of the City;
- Performance of the duties required of the official custodian or custodian pursuant to KRS 61.870-61.882;
- Possession of the seal of the City if used;
- Performance of all other duties and responsibilities required of the City Clerk by statute and ordinance.

City Commission Meetings
The Paducah Board of Commissioners meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Commission Chambers of City Hall at 300 South 5th Street. The Board holds Workshop meetings on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month in the same location. The general public is invited to attend.
