McDonald’s, players and coaches with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and Paducah Parks Services will once again host the 2012 NAIA Baseball Championship Opening Rounds and Youth Clinic at Brooks Stadium.
This week of baseball kicks-off Saturday, May 5 when the Evansville Otters take on the Southern Illinois Miners. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with the first pitch at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are just $5.00.
On Wednesday, May 9, kids ages 6 to 16 can get tips from college baseball players and coaches during a clinic at Brooks Stadium. Registration will begin at 4:00 p.m. with the clinic starting at 4:30 p.m. The first 300 participants will receive a FREE t-shirt.
On Thursday through Saturday (May 10-12) come out and cheer on college baseball players from around the country as they play their way towards the NAIA World Series. Games on Thursday and Friday will be at 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The Saturday games will be at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00. Half price tickets are available at Otters v. Miners game this Saturday.
Brooks Stadium in Paducah is one of nine sites for the 2012 NAIA Baseball Tournament. Each location features a five-team double elimination tournament. The Paducah Convention & Visitors Bureau estimates the direct economic impact of the tournament to Paducah at $400,000.
