Gerald Watkins is a Paducah native with strong roots in education.
He is a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. He has an A.A., B.S., and M.B.A. degrees. He is a member of Gamma Beta Phi and Pi Sigma Alpha, both national honor societies. He is a Professor of Political Science at West Kentucky Community and Technical College and was voted "Teacher of the Year" four times by the student body.
Gerald Watkins has his real estate license in escrow and was the former owner and chief instructor of Watkins Karate for 19 years.
He is active at Southland Baptist Temple where he's served as a board member and associate Sunday School teacher. He also is a member of the Paducah Downtown Lions Club, Gideons International, and the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce.
Through his role as City Commissioner, he serves on the Brooks Stadium Commission, the Cable Authority Board, and the Paducah-McCracken County Joint Sewer Agency (JSA) Board.
