Job Opportunities
Note: Jobs close at 4:00 p.m. on their posted closing date unless otherwise noted.
*Notes: Police Officer Recruit applications received will be placed in the pool for the next scheduled testing session. Candidates will be notified when the next test date is scheduled. Effective April 16, 2012, the Police Department changed its hiring policy to require 60 college credit hours, instead of 30 credit hours. Applicants without the necessary college hours are still eligible if they have at least one year full-time sworn law enforcement experience or two years full-time military (with National Guard and Reserve time considered on a case-by-case basis). The change will not affect those who submitted applications before April 16.

Risk Management
In recent years, attention has been focused on safety in the workplace. Working with the Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) has produced numerous enhancements in the worker safety in the City of Paducah. In fiscal year 2005, a Risk Manager was hired in order to more aggressively address risk issues. The City has selected various insurance coverage to mitigate potential risk, with premiums/deductibles remaining flat at approximately $1.2 million for both fiscal years 2006 and 2007 for general liability, public officials liability, auto, law enforcement and workers compensation. For more information contact Human Resources Director, Cindy Medford at (270) 444-8540.
