The Paducah Board of Commissioners schedules Neighborhood Walk events. The walks allow the Commissioners and city staff to walk in a neighborhood while meeting with the residents in a casual atmosphere. Neighborhood Walk is modeled after the Summer Stroll events held in Bowling Green, Kentucky where neighborhoods invite the elected officials to stroll through the neighborhood and visit with constituents.
The first Neighborhood Walk in Paducah was held May 12, 2009. 2009 was the second year the Paducah Board of Commissioners developed walking events allowing them to get to know Paducah’s residents. In 2008, the Commissioners participated in the Walk the Greenway Trail with the Mayor and Commissioners.
If a neighborhood would like to invite the Commissioners to participate in a Neighborhood Walk, please email Public Information Officer, Pam Spencer, or call 444-8669. Click Gallery of Photos for pictures from several of the previous Neighborhood Walks.
