The Paducah Parks Services Department is accepting entry applications for the 2011 Christmas Parade. The Christmas Parade will be Saturday, December 3 at 5:00 p.m. in downtown Paducah. The parade follows Broadway starting at 14th Street and ending at 2nd and Monroe where it will disband. Streets will be closed in the staging area beginning at 3:00 p.m. Streets along the parade route will close at 4:30 p.m.
The theme for the 2011 Christmas Parade is “Do You Hear What I Hear?” with music and lighting required for all entries. The deadline to submit an entry application for the parade is Friday, November 18. Entry forms received between November 19 and November 28 will be charged a $25 late fee. Entry forms received after November 28 will not be accepted. The entry form has been mailed to last year’s parade participants. However, if a group or organization would like to be a part of this year’s parade and has not received a form, an entry form is available at www.paducahky.gov or at the Parks Department office. The Parks Department will hold a mandatory meeting for parade participants at the Robert Cherry Civic Center on Tuesday, November 29 at 6:00 p.m. Participants will be given their parade packets, numbers, and line up information.
