City of Paducah Engineering-Public Works crews along with a contractor will begin the construction of a new intersection off County Park Road on Monday, May 14. The work will take approximately a month, weather-permitting. During the work, crews expect to keep County Park Road open; however, for the safety of the crews, drivers are urged to find an alternate route. The new intersection will be constructed just south of the western entrance to the Greenway Trail. Those who want to use the trail should park at Stuart Nelson Park or Noble Park. Otherwise, please use caution, and watch for the work crews and traffic control devices. There is a large curve just north of the location for the new intersection. If you are travelling south on County Park Road, drive slowly since the curve may block your view of the roadwork.
This new intersection is to service the development by Hidgon Development, Inc, and Greenway Village, LLC. The development includes the construction of apartments and condominiums on vacant land owned by Higdon adjacent to Stuart Nelson Park and the Greenway Trail. In a memorandum of understanding between the developer and the City of Paducah, the City agreed to construct the intersection where Greenway Drive, within the apartment complex, intersects with County Park Road. The City also will improve the intersection with Greenway Drive and Stuart Nelson Park Road in the future.
If you have a question about the project, please call the Engineering-Public Works Department at 444-8511.
