The annual tradition of Fire House Chili returns for the next three Fridays. The City of Paducah invites the public to stop by and purchase chili, chili dogs, and/or hot dogs with all of the proceeds benefitting the United Way of Paducah-McCracken County. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, fire fighters will be cooking at Station 1 located at 301 Washington Street. This is the fifth year for Fire House Chili.
City of Paducah United Way Campaign Chair Claudia Meeks says, “City employees choose different ways to participate in the City’s annual United Way fundraiser. Fire fighters have volunteered to cook Fire House Chili at Station 1. It isn’t ‘five alarm’ chili -- it is prepared so that everyone can enjoy a great meal.” Meeks adds, “With the current needs in our community, this will give you an opportunity to fill your belly and support a great cause!”
The City will provide a delivery service for orders that total at least $20.00. Please pre-order by Thursday, November 3 at 3:00 p.m. for lunch time delivery on Friday, November 4. Click here for Delivery Order Form >>
Each week a different crew will cook the chili. For this Friday, the crew from Station 3 (1421 Friedman Lane) under the leadership of Captain Barry Carter will take over the kitchen at Station 1 to cook their special chili recipe that will tantalize your taste buds. Additional lunches benefiting the United Way will be held at Fire Station 1 on November 11 and 18.
