The recent cool, crisp nights may have kids moving out of the summer mode and looking forward to Halloween.  Kids in 6th through 8th grades are invited to submit a story about Halloween for the Halloween Short Story Contest organized by the Paducah Parks Services Department.  The deadline to submit the short story is Friday, September 16 at 5:00 p.m.  The story must be typed and a maximum of 600 words.  There is no fee to submit an entry; however, only one story per person.  The story must be about Halloween.  All stories MUST begin with the following phrase:  “The moon was full and a mysterious fog crept up the path as the darkness of the night settled in.”
