Below are the changes to the Engineering-Public Works Department trash collection schedule for the upcoming holidays. Since crews will be doubling up their collection routes and starting their shifts earlier than normal, if your trash collection schedule is affected by the holidays, it is recommended that trash containers are placed in their designated collection point the previous night. If you have a question about trash collection, contact the Engineering-Public Works Department at 444-8567.
- There will be NO residential trash collection on Friday, December 23. Friday’s routes will be done on Thursday, December 22. There will be no brush collection on Monday, December 26.
- There will be NO residential trash collection on Friday, December 30. Friday's routes will be done on Thursday, December 29. There will be no brush collection on Monday, January 2.
To dispose of a live Christmas tree, the City of Paducah urges residents to recycle by taking the tree to the Compost Facility located at 1560 North 8th Street during regular business hours. The facility is open Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. It will be closed December 23 through 26 and December 30 through January 2. Please remove all lights, garland, and ornaments before taking the tree to the Compost Facility. Residents also can dispose of trees by placing them next to their garbage.
