Starting Tuesday, June 19, City of Paducah Engineering-Public Works crews along with a contractor will begin the milling and paving of sections of Buckner Lane and Valley Road. Milling will begin on Tuesday with the paving projected to start Thursday. Crews expect to finish the project late this week weather-permitting. The section of Buckner Lane that will be resurfaced is from Vine Street to Audubon Drive. Valley Road will receive new pavement from Buckner Lane to Country Club Lane.
During the street resurfacing work, crews expect to keep one lane of each road open; however, for the safety of the crews, drivers are urged to find an alternate route. Please use caution, and watch for the work crews and traffic control devices.
This street rehabilitation project is part of the City of Paducah’s annual street improvement plan. Part of the funding is provided through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Municipal Aid Program (MAP). MAP funds are collected from the State gas tax and are allocated for maintenance, reconstruction, or construction of city streets. The City of Paducah maintains approximately 220 miles of streets. If you have a question, please call the Engineering-Public Works Department at 444-8511.
