City of Paducah Engineering-Public Works crews and contractors are continuing the project to improve four parking lots in Noble Park. Today, crews are installing the base that will prepare the parking lots for paving scheduled to start later this week. The parking areas are on the south and east sides of the lake, which include the parking lots for the two playgrounds.
For the public’s safety, the four parking areas will be closed to the public. Also, the road that loops around the lake will be closed intermittently. Visitors still can drive around the park by using the outer loop that circles by the tennis courts. The playgrounds are open; however, visitors will need to park next to the pool house or by the ballfields and walk to the playgrounds. Once the base is installed, the parking lots will be paved this week weather permitting. Please use caution, and watch for the work crews and traffic control devices.
In September, crews started working to widen the entrances to the parking areas and make them more accessible. Drainage issues have been corrected and curbs and gutters were added. Once the paving is complete, crews will return to Noble Park to stripe the parking areas.
