Come Lend A Hand
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY-- The Midtown Alliance of Neighbors is sponsoring Repair Affair --Fall 2011 on Saturday, October 15. Repair Affair is a one-day event where teams of volunteers help homeowners in need with critical maintenance, weatherization, safety, and accessibility issues. This fall, the program is helping eight homeowners in Paducah.
Come lend a hand. The Midtown Alliance of Neighbors needs general helping hands as well as some skilled folks especially roofers, carpenters, a plumber, and window glazers. There is also a bit of work to be done before and after the main work day.
Worker registration begins at 7:15 a.m. on October 15 at Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church. Breakfast will be served starting at 7:30 a.m. The breakfast is one of the church’s FREE Community Breakfasts from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to enjoy the breakfast whether they are working or not. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.
Sign up to help during Repair Affair by calling Sharon Poat at 442-8947 or 556-0826. Please sign up as soon as possible since it helps plan the workday. If you or your group cannot make the October 15 workday but still are interested in helping, please let us know. There are plenty of opportunities to help the neighborhood.
The non-profit Midtown Alliance of neighbors helps low-income homeowners around Paducah and works especially in the Fountain Avenue neighborhood, helping both homeowners and the City with revitalization efforts. For more information, visit
