Cancellations and Rain Outs
The Paducah Parks Services Department cancels all classes and activities if the Paducah City Schools are closed due to weather. The administrative offices will remain open unless specifically stated. The cancellation phone number is 270-444-8621.
Community Garden Program
The Community Garden located in the open space at 14th and Madison Streets provides an opportunity for citizens to rent plots for $20 from March to October for an organic garden. Thank you to Boy Scout Matthew Rea for working in 2011 to double the size of the Community Garden for his Eagle project. There are now 40 plots in the garden. Call Parks at 444-8508 to rent a plot. Dogs
The City of Paducah has several ordinances related to dogs including dogs at special community events, chaining and tethering of dogs, enclosure and chaining requirements for the confinement of dogs, sanitary disposal of dog feces, and precautions for owners of dangerous dogs. The Paducah City Commission has challenged the public to raise $20,000 in funds for a dog park. Once the public meets its goal, the City of Paducah will contribute an equal match for the construction of a dog park in Stuart Nelson Park. The Parks Services Department has reviewed several sites around Paducah and recommends placing the dog park on a 1.61-acre section at the eastern end of Stuart Nelson Park. Master Plan
In 2001 the City of Paducah contracted with consultant Brandstetter Carroll, Inc. for the development of a City of Paducah Parks Master Plan. Click Master Plan to view the 206 page document.
Memorials (Trees and Park Benches)
The Parks Services Department accepts donations for the purpose of planting trees and installing benches within City Parks to memorialize a departed family member or friend or to commemorate a special occasion. Click Donation Policy and Contract Form for more information.
Permits for Festivals and Events
Permits are issued for general assemblies, also referred to as special events. Special events that require permits include walks at Noble Park, parades, and festivals. A permit is necessary for a special event that will be conducted on the streets, parks, or other public areas in the City of Paducah. There are three ways to register for programs and activities. Click Online Registration to register online using a major credit/debit card. Registration also is available by calling the Parks office at 270-444-8508 or by downloading and mailing the Registration Form with a check.

Rules of Conduct
The City of Paducah takes pride in its Parks and has enacted through ordinance the Rules of Conduct for residents and visitors as they enjoy the various parks and facilities in the City. Click Rules of Conduct to view the entire list of enforced rules. The Parks Services Department also has a behavior policy for participants of activities. The Department will not tolerate verbal or physical abuse or threat of abuse to any staff member, umpire/referee, or program participant. Click Behavior Policy to view the policy and the penalties.
